a reality check as the gov't works to limit salaries and bonuses.

while the private sector goes through layoffs and belt-tightening:

    Read a wage survey for direct service professionals (caregivers for DD adults) among private and public sectors in CA, and you get the same effect. Almost double the wage in many places.

      it's unsustainable. CA obligations outstripped out ability to pay for them during the boom. and now that we're over a barrel, we can't seem to back out of these insane union contracts. CA is fucked.
