"GMAC is back in line at the Treasury Department, empty bowl in hand. The bank is asking the government for a third bailout — somewhere between $2.8 and $5.6 billion. That’s on top of the $12.5 billion GMAC has been given since December."

  • Now really, would anybody in their right mind buy a car from such incompetents? Time to close the doors. Or should I say way past time.

of the TARP, AIG, BofA, Citi and Wells Fargo have yet to pay back their loans. everyone else paid it back with interest.

GM and Chrysler. forget about it. not only is that money gone, but so will be the rest thrown into this failing venture. and now that the government has thrown ass-loads of green to propping up the auto industry, just how serious do you think they are going to be about alternative forms of transportation? or giving Ford and other competitors a fair shot at stocking the Federal fleet?

keep that in mind when you consider just how expensive unions are to the country.
      • <keep that in mind when you consider just how expensive unions are to the country.>

not remotely as expensive as 8 years of the nearly unimpeded implementation of republican ideology.
        • And the deficit has gone DOWN in the months since Dear Leader Obama has taken office, right?
          • <And the deficit has gone DOWN in the months since Dear Leader Obama has taken office, right?>

according to the nonpartisan congressional budget office, 96% of that deficit was inherited from the bush administration along with the worst recession in 80 years and two hot wars that comprise the bulk of that deficit and which will continue to be major contributors to the deficit for the next several years.

a simple factual reality only an unedjewkated ideeut might fail to grasp.

            • Can you cite the papers that you got that from? Because I'm seeing many many trillions of dollars being thrown about for no good reason. You let these Dems get into power in DC, and it a few hundred billion here, a few hundred billion there, pretty soon it starts to add up to something. I may be an uneducated idiot, but I know when I'm being lied to.
            • >> according to the nonpartisan congressional budget office, 96% of that deficit was inherited from the bush administration <<

200 billion of additional spending on the stimulus plan. and the deficit is 1.4 trillion. .2/1.4 = 14%. where did you get 96%?

not to mention other tricks and deceptions that were made to come up with the statistic you're mindlessly spouting.

not to mention that this statement may have been "valid" in April. have you performed the due diligence to ensure it remains so?

              >> along with the worst recession in 80 years and two hot wars that comprise the bulk of that deficit and which will continue to be major contributors to the deficit for the next several years. <<

yes. and what has the obama administration done to control spending?

              >> a simple factual reality only an unedjewkated ideeut might fail to grasp. <<

"factual reality." one of those redundancies thrown in to prove your intellectual superiority I suppose.
